Real Life Grace

Thankful Thursday saw our family traipsing through the rain to check out a possible future “home” (aka college) for one of our children. While the rain was a bit of a damper on the day, it did allow us to have a real life look at what being on campus would look like. The tour guide warmly welcomed us when we first arrived and cheerfully led us around highlighting various buildings and points of interests. Her conversational approach and efficient sharing of information was appreciated as we kept moving quickly when we were out in the rain and strolling as soaked up the warmth and dryness when moving through the interior of buildings.

As we walk through life and engage with others, I hope we can be like our tour guide was today. She walked with us through the “real life stuff” of the rain coming down. While not the desired weather, it was what we had. She made the most of it. Do we make the most of the “real life stuff” we walk through? Do our actions shine with our belief in Jesus and alignment with His call on our lives? Ephesians 4:29 provides some guidance on the actions we should be taking:

29 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up,[a] as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.

Grace & Blessings!
