See You In the Church Soon!

Hi kids!

Today will be my last Kids Moment of Praise.

Now that we are all back together in church, Sunday School and Kidz Choir, I don’t need to communicate with you online. I can see your faces and laugh, dance, and sing with you in person.

Entering Thanksgiving and Christmas makes me so excited and for us to be getting ready to sing for Christmas Eve.

Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I hope to see you in church or in Kidz Choir. Remember to keep seeking Jesus in your life; I can’t wait to see where you will go with His guidance!

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

This will be the last of our Moments to Praise. I sure had fun doing them and helping you all (hopefully) from time to time. The purpose of the devotion was to help keep us all connected during COVID when we were unable to be in the physical church. However, now that the church is completely back in action and the work is picking up, I am going to focus on that job. I’m super excited about the prospects for the future of our church as we move forward and I’m excited for us to keep getting back to normal.

Thanks for allowing me to put my emotions and thoughts in each Moment to Praise during these last 19 months. Thanks for the support you have given me. And finally a huge thank you to Katie Landis for her ever present, often overlooked work behind the scenes with all of Gravel Hill’s social media. You are one awesome woman!

I hope to see you all in church, and always remember to praise!

Hebrews 13:15-16 CEB – Bible Gateway

Hebrews 13:15-16. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. Even in the darkest of times, we can praise God for his love, his sovereignty, and his promise to be near us when we call (Psalm 145:18).

Infinite Love

Hi, Guys and Gals,

I hope your week is going well! I know that some of the most fun times of the year are coming up: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Yay – excitement! I love all of these times of the year. There is so much cheer, candy, presents, and fun all coming up in the next three months! I would consider all of these holidays to be really awesome. They are great times to anticipate and get excited about – all good things!

Read this scripture attached about how all great things will fade away, but one thing will remain.

Bible Gateway passage: 1 Corinthians 13:8 – International Children’s Bible

Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will end. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will be ended.

www.biblegateway.com

God’s love never ends! All of the things of this earth will not mean much in the end, but knowing God’s love in your life will last forever. God’s love is the one thing that will remain in the end! Make sure you know God, and how much He loves you.  Know that He gave his only son, Jesus Christ, for you so that you could be forgiven. Because of Jesus, you will live forever and ever with him someday, a long time from now.

One World

I am continuing my devotional from last week, coming back to the idea of showing each other love and helping one another in this life. Ultimately the goal is to love instead of judging and being harsh toward one another. This scripture from Philippians says:

Philiippians 2:3-5 NET – Bible Gateway

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition[a] or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Each of you should be concerned[b] not only[c] about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well.[d] You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,[e]

www.biblegateway.com

Clearly, scripture tells us that we are to treat others not worse, not even equal to, but better than we treat ourselves! How often do we do that in our lives? Lately, it seems like no one is willing to help or show love to another person. It is so very sad. Everyone just seems cranky!

The video I attached today is a song from a while ago by Toby Mac called “One World”. I have chosen to use the lyric video so you all can see the words to this song. One of my favorite lines says: “…is God looking in pure disgust, wondering “What’s the ‘dilly’ with the silly I see, when I made each of these in the image of me?”

Could that be the way that God feels when he looks upon his children? Does he ask himself, “What are these people doing? I have made each and every one in my image, yet I don’t see them acting like me!”

Genesis 1:27 NRSV – Bible Gateway

So God created humankind[a] in his image,
in the image of God he created them;[b]
male and female he created them.

We have no excuse for our behavior, especially when we look at it in light of this scripture. God expects more from us. I need to look out for you, and you need to look out for me. We need to live peacefully on this earth together, because one day we will be sharing heaven together. One world, here and for eternity. It makes you think, doesn’t it?

Being Kind

I was just thinking about you guys since we had Kidz Choir last night. My thoughts were about how kind and nice you all are! It’s a great thing to see when we’re all together. You are always helping each other, especially older kids helping those younger. You are always encouraging each other when we pray, and we always have fun together. It’s a great thing to see. You are just like Jesus in your action: being kind. You definitely show that you understand the Bible verse below.

Thanks for being good kids and examples of Jesus in the world. Adults should be looking to you to learn how to treat one another! 😃
