Waves of Emotion

Thankful Thursday found my thoughts wandering to seasons of life and the washing range of emotion that can overwhelm us at seemingly random moments. As we walk through this journey called life, we get to experience many “firsts.” Often these firsts celebrated include birthdays, weddings, graduations, moving into a new residence, and with the appreciation of life, this list can go on and on. Celebrating the milestones and accomplishments fills us with belief, confidence, joy, love, and hope!

As life experiences grow with the passing of years and the passing of loved one near and dear to our hearts, some of these memories and anniversaries become hard or painful to remember. A vibrant memory runs through your mind as if the event just happened yesterday with the core person being someone you can no longer hug causing a smile creeps across your face. And before you know it, your heart aches with love and longing to have them in your arms.

As we experience all of these moments from the heartache to the joyous, believers have the One who walks alongside us. He is there for us to reach out. His love and compassion for us overflows through all our moments. From the swells of pride and joy to the dips of aching, anger, and angst, we can not hide our hearts and emotions from God. He always knows where we are physically, spiritually, and emotionally (Ezekiel 39:29). And He waits with loving arms open wide, hiding in plain view for us to seek Him through it all.

Join our Facebook group: Gravel Hill Prayers. It is a closed group to be mindful of the private and sensitive requests made. And it’s purpose: for you to be a prayer warrior both interceding where others are asking for assistance in prayer and requesting prayers for situations that need lifting.
