Thankful Thursday 11-9-2023
Support
Thankful Thursday looks at the calendar in disbelief. How can the second week of November already be here? Seasons turned from one to the other and are turning yet again. The constant change outside the window mimics the constant change of seasons in our lives.
Yesterday our family got to celebrate with my mom for her last day of work. During the gathering we got to meet different individuals who had been a steady part of her life over the past 31 years. It was a treat to meet the people who were united in their efforts along with my mom to provide good service at the place of employment. Some small stories shared, a few tears shed, and well wishes for the future filled the conversation during the celebratory moments. What a blessing to put faces to her work crew and the support she received while there.
We all have different support communities in our lives. And when two or more of those collide, our blessing bucket overflows. I pray that you are able to use the-quickly-passing-month-of-November to share your support for someone in one of your communities. Showing up to one of their events, writing them a card, or grabbing a midday moment together, might seem like small actions to you, but can mean the world to them. Your support shares God’s love with them. May you be a shining light of love to someone today!
Blessings!
