Routine

Thankful Thursday recognizes the beauty in the routine of the ordinary. The small tasks that occur around a home like laundry, dishes, mowing, weeding, and cleaning all surfaces of that thin layer of grime that begins to build if left untouched. Each of these actions express care.

Care of self, for others, and in being a good steward of the gifts with which we already have been blessed. Care with a positive heart intent equates to an expression of love in action. So to routinely care is to routinely express love. 1 John 3:18 encourages us in this action, “Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”

Routines allow you to use what you have around you to create environments that are welcoming to those stepping through the threshhold of your space. That’s why home cooking is so sought-after: it is made with love. Keep up the good routine work. You are creating pockets of welcoming love!

Blessings!

Want to be part of a prayer group? We come together in a collective effort to support and lift up others. You do this during your time with God knowing others are also lifting these prayers to God. Join our Facebook group: Gravel Hill Prayers. It is a closed group to be mindful of the private and sensitive requests made. And it’s purpose: for you to be a prayer warrior both interceding where others are asking for assistance in prayer and requesting prayers for situations that need lifting. To join, please send an email to Katie.
