Cozy Cocoon
Thankful Thursday shares the title of clean sheets Thursday in our home. As soon as I rise on Thursday mornings, I strip the sheets from our beds and get them directly into the washer and subsequently into the dryer. Once the sheet make it through the laundry, back onto the bed they go. And through this whole process, the anticipation of bedtime grows.
The ability to climb into crisp, clean sheets is a small treat that I treasure. To know that I am cocooned in cleanly coziness as I welcome the rest and renewal that a good night’s sleep offers, brings an excitement and also deep piece of mind. I find this marriage of excitement and piece of mind also meeting when I spend in the scriptures.
The Bible is God’s Word speaking life to our hearts. It guides us with its precepts. That sacred time in the Word is the cozy cocoon of God’s care speaking life into my heart and mind. And He offers it to each and every one of us. I thank God for the cozy cocoon of time with Him.
