Failure & Grace

Thankful Thursday found the word failure highlighted in each of the devotions today. First in Luke 1:37, we find this reminder: “37 For no word from God will ever fail.” In the next devotion, it started offwith this statement: Mistakes are a part of life. It went on to says that those whom have had success in life acknowledge their mistakes, learn from them, and work to correct them. Because Proverb 28:13 warns us 13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. In the final devotion, Ephesians 2:8-9 pointed out: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. It shared a cute story about a frustrating person being given the label E.R.G. (Extra Grace Required) and acting with the extra grace towards that person.

In these back to back lessons, the 1, 2, 3 take aways I learned and should be focused on in this order are:

  1. God doesn’t fail!
  2. Work hard on improving myself and my interactions with others. Because daily as a human, those “failures” become multiple opportunities for improvement.
  3. Our failures turned to faith open our eyes to the grace given to us by Christ Jesus. Sprinkle that grace generously. We each wear the label of E.R.G. in our lives!

Blessings!
