Refuge
Thankful Thursday lifts praises for shade. The past few days have been quite sunny and warm in central Pennsylvania. And last evening I got to watch my son and his teammates have a workout in preparation for their upcoming season.
To watch, there were bleachers to sit in for great viewing directly in the sun. Fortunately, I was able to sit in a corner high up in the corner and open an umbrella to provide some shade while still allowing the breeze to blow through helping to keep the environment slightly cooler and more enjoyable for watching.
God also offers the gift of shade through the trees outside. If you are fortunate enough to be in an area blessed with these towering creations, you too can enjoy their comforts of shade and shleter on a sunny day. God himself is the ultimate refuge to seek. For Psalm 121:4-6 shares:
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
In the heat of life, God is the ultimate protector and provider. Seek Him. And find shelter physically, mentally, and emotionally. The ulitmate refuge and relief.
Blessings!
