Thankful Thursday 6-15-2023
True Refreshment
Thankful Thursday lifts gratitude for refreshing drinks. For the past several weeks, the skies have been sunny and clear making for very dry conditions. On Monday and Wednesday, we experienced rainfall that refreshed the plants and yards. More is still needed, but what did come was refreshing and life giving.
On hot sunny days beautiful with bright colors and stunning sunrays, being in the brunt of the sun builds a strong even need for a cool beverage to bring the body temperature down. The cool liquid also offers a mental reprieve from the sun. Each of these physical situations speak to the intangible gifts Jesus offered to the woman at the well (John 4:1-42) (& to each of us). We can drink deeply of His words and worship Him in Spirit and in truth. In these actions lies true refreshment. Thank you God for that!
