The Plopper
Thankful Thursday thoughts bring a smile. While listening to the radio recently, I heard this question: “Are you a plopper?” The announce went on to explain what she meant by the question saying are you the kind of friend that can show up at a friend’s home, come in, and plop down with them amidst the chaos of life happening in their home? That friend feels no need to clean up of tidy their home due to your arrival, but whole-heartedly welcomes you in an open, vulnerable, and unmasked way. Your time together is one of comfort, support, and enjoyment of life.
If you are fortunate to be a plopper (or may even have a relationship with a plopper yourself), you experience the embodiment of Proverbs 27:9. “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.” These relationships sprinkle healthy doses of grace and mercy all around. Your focus is your friend. Keep cultivating the encouragement, belief in them, and the love you share as friends. Those plop-by-moments become fuel for the heart and soul especially during the weary moments of life. Keep plopping in the good!
Blessings!
