Preparation

Thankful Thursday awakened with scattered showers of much needed rain in central PA. The precipitation forecast calls for more of the wet stuff on the way. The ground, the plants, and nature lap up all the rain and put it to good use.

This is one more example of a statement I’ve been hearing often this week: God prepares you for what He has already prepared for you. Like the nature outside has seen the storm clouds roll in and had the rainwater pour down on it, we too face the have the storm clouds of life and rain of problems and challenges pour out onto our lives. But just as nature sucks up the rain water, the behaviors we develop to manage the challenges of life become the water for our growth. The growth of stretching, changing, and reaching all work together to prepare us for the season of life before us.

God has great things awaiting us. We do need to be developed as humans to handle the next phase of goodness. He loves us too much to leave us too weak to handle the opportunities He has in store for us. Soak in this raining season of preparation with the knowledge that something greater awaits you through the lessons you are learning.

Blessings!
