Grace and Peace

Thankful Thursday finds me recently landing in reading books and listening to podcasts filled with the words grace and peace. When I pause in the silence and focus my mind on these words,  and the thoughts and experiences connected to them, I take a deep breath and as I slowly release my breath I slipped toward the experience of peace and the journey of grace that allows me to be there. I am grateful for this place.

I choose to direct my thoughts towards grace and peace. The alternative choice of focus of fear and shame leads to an unhealthy focus of man’s perspective of my life, not God’s. When I go to God with all the messy, broken pieces of my life including my emotions and feelings, I know in His hands all the ugly, hard parts of life will be used to work for good (Romans 8:28). This knowledge offers peace as I continue putting one foot in front of the other one day at a time in the challenging seasons of life.

Grace, gifted to you and me should we accept it, allows us to pick our heads up. We pause in the silence and connect with our Creator. Then we move forward in peace no matter the circumstances. When the fuel tanks are low, setting aside more silent time is the key to upping energy levels for the next adventure ahead. With the fuel of grace, we can go forward with the peace and knowledge that Jesus is right there beside us through it all.

Blessings!
