Thankful Thursday 1-5-2023
Perfect Timing
Thankful Thursday greeted me with a long “to-do” list after a rough night’s sleep. So my outlook on the day ahead along with the next several to come waned at the thought of everything to be covered. After caring for and helping family members out the door and walking the dog, I paused to get in a vital piece of my morning routine: checking my Bible app for the verse of the day.
As I opened the app and read the verse, I immediately lifted a prayer of gratitude. The daily verse today: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 NIV. Talk about perfect timing!
This gentle reminder encourage me to focus on the day in front of me with the energy gifted to me today. Yes, there are plenty of items on the horizon to tackle, but today requires me to be fully present in each moment to handle the challenges and opportunities that arise. With God’s help (and perfectly timed reminders!), I will most certainly make the most of the day before me.
