Fear Not
Thankful Thursday began with some excitement for me this morning. After returning home, I popped inside for a few minutes and much to my surprise, a visitor greeted me when I came back out to our garage. Just as surprised at my presence, I received a hissing greeting from a raccoon warning me to give it space! And space I gave it as I sprinted outside and around to our back door for my son to let me in. I tried to allow time for the raccoon to choose to leave on its own will, but some gentle protected urging in the direction of the outdoors was needed for our garage to be emptied of the raccoon’s presence and directed out to nature where it belongs.
There are times I am like the raccoon in a place not meant for me. I hole up in the safest place I can find-a dark corner. While there, I hiss and whimper in fear from the loneliness. Thankfully God hears me and loves me too much to leave me in that dark place. He lovingly urges me out into uncomfortable and scary places for me. He invites me to join Him leading me to where I am called to live. Â Isaiah 41:10 reminds us “do not fear, do not be afraid.” God is with us and for us and will provide.
Lord, thank you for meeting me in my fearful places and lovingly calling me out of that fear and into the place meant for me. While the path is unknown to me, with You as my guide my journey shines Your glory. Forever your beloved child. Amen!
Blessings!
