Why & Who versus When & Where
Thankful Thursday falls nine days away from the calendar date for Christmas. I phrase it that way because yes December 25 is the recognized day for Christmas and many celebrations happen on this date, but so many situations do not allow for the celebration to occur on THE day marked for celebration or at the desired site either. Families and friends (the WHO of celebrations) that face scenarios of celebrating on a non-traditional date or in a different place really get to pause and remember WHY the celebration is happening in the first place.
Some have already begun their Christmas celebrations and others soon will be gathering to celebrate. Remember our WHY for gathering: the birth of Jesus Christ. Our gate to salvation and eternal life in heaven with our Heavenly Father.
Before Jesus, there was no hope for change in the way the world operated. The gift of salvation, available to each of us, offers hope. Change for a different future. A new perspective on life. One filled with joy, peace, and love.
As professing Christians, we receive through our salvation the gifts of joy, peace, and love. As we gather with family and friends to celebrate these gifts, share them with those around you. And may you see their bounty multiplied.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your son. That I may have hope while in this world while focused on you. Grounded in the knowledge that I am a beloved child of yours. Free to share the love you so freely give to me. Amen.
Blessings!

It is a closed group to be mindful of the private and sensitive requests made. And it’s purpose is for you to be a prayer warrior both interceding where others are asking for assistance in prayer and requesting prayers for situations that need lifting.
