There Are Days

Some days, there are days where you just wish you would have stayed in bed, aren’t there? There are days when you just can’t see a clear direction or where things are going. Those are the tough days. In those moments, you have to practice what you preach. You must live out what you say you know to be truth.

When a bad day happens, you have to have faith that God is working in and around you in all situations, no matter what they are. I love the way that The Message translates Proverbs 3:5-6. The verse reminds us of the importance of having faith when its hard. Take a look.

Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG – Bible Gateway

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;

don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Trust and Listen

I need this advice often. Trust in God; not just a little bit, but deeply, from the bottom of your heart. Don’t just give God lip service, but demonstrate real and abiding trust in Him, in all things at all times. The next part is the one that I need to hear even more: don’t try to figure everything out on your own. I feel that this statement should end with an exclamation point and not a period! We, in communion with our egos, try to figure everything out. Spoiler alert: we can’t! That’s a plain and simple truth. We should stop and read the next line. “Listen to God’s voice in everything you do and everywhere you go.”

Uh oh! How often do we do that? So many times, we have a problem and we start the chain of talking. We talk to one person, then two people, possibly more to try to validate us, make us feel better, or find someone to sympathize with us. When in reality, we could have just turned to God, found validation and found peace in Him first.

After that, it would be easier to follow through by seeking out a trusted, godly person to talk to. Someone who can pray with us and for us until the crisis passes.

Bottom line? Only God can keep us on track and no one else. He holds the master plan and has our absolute best interest at heart. Does that mean it’s a piece of cake? Nope! Does that mean that faith in hard times is easy to come by? Absolutely not.  But we need to, at all times, practice that faith in big and small things and before we know it, it will become second nature for us all.

A Moment To Praise 10.11.21 in Song

I encourage you to listen to this song, especially if you are in the middle of a trial right now.  It brings peace and comfort and a clearer head for moving forward in your faith in Christ.
