A Moment To Praise 10.4.21

Unchanged
Have you ever opened a package, removed its contents, and then tried to put it all back in the box? For me, at least, it never fits the way it was originally. Think about opening a pack of butter at a restaurant. If you wanted to package it back up, it would never go back the same as it was when you first opened it. In both of these scenarios, something magically changed, and the package and its contents don’t work anymore. They are never the same. These are just little silly day-to-day examples that truly have no long term consequences.
But what about other times when significant things happen in our lives that change us forever? There are clearly times in our lives where circumstances aren’t happy or fair. Sometimes these occurrences cause us to have a change in personality. We may become more withdrawn, more guarded, or start to question God’s plan.
We tend to think that God has the same personality traits as we do, and that He changes His personality or His mind in the same way that we do. Thankfully, that’s not the case. Where we may exhibit changes much like the packages talked about earlier, God never changes. He is constant and His ways and thoughts are clearly different than our ways. Scripture says this:

Malachi 3:6 NIV – Bible Gateway
I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. |
No matter how much we change, God is the same for all time. He is a constant force in our lives. We know that we can count on and trust in Him. He will never change or act any differently from one day to the next. He is forever our unchanging God.
