A Moment To Praise 9.27.21

In God’s Hand

I was sitting on my patio late last night enjoying the cool air, the stillness, and the lovely sky. Trying to permanently remember the evening, I decided to take a picture of the full moon. Literally ten seconds after I took the photo, my phone lit up with a text. It was my brother-in-law sending me a picture of the very same full moon over his patio, sitting nearly sixty miles away, near Philadelphia.

I chuckled and sent him my moon shot, commenting on the weird coincidence. He told me to zoom in on his picture, because it seemed as if you could see another planet in his frame. He was right! It was a really cool photo. Then I zoomed in on my picture for fun and I noticed the clouds around the moon. One of the clouds looked like a hand. Check it out!

When I was a kid, I was always fond of the cloud game – where you assign common images to a cloud in the sky that shares similar features. A lot of times, the clouds I chose truly resembled the image. Other times, not so much. In this case, I said to my brother-in-law and sister to zoom in on what I was talking about. At the end of the day, we all agreed it looked like a hand holding the moon. I dubbed it God’s hand.

It’s actually comforting to visualize God’s hand holding onto the universe and holding onto us, too. It makes this world seem a little more pleasant and safe.

No matter what happens in this life, we have the promise of a God who loves us and holds onto us firmly with His competent hands. Remember this, find peace in it, and have a great week!
