Silliness & Praise

I heard this song from a friend a couple of months ago. It was used in their church to teach kids that it’s fun to sing and worship God. Worshiping can even be a little silly! If you don’t know how that would be possible, you should listen to this song!

Praise Ye The Lord Hallelujah (NEW VERSION)

It made me laugh when my friend shared it with me! Even so, I wanted to do some research to see how many words I could use instead of the word “praise”. Here’s what I found:

praise

(Click the word praise to see even more words you can use.)

verb

1 to proclaim the glory of

  • hymns that praise God

2 to declare enthusiastic approval of

  • the school volunteers were praised for their excellent work in the reading program
 noun
as in recognition, acclaim

There are so many words that can characterize praise!

I’m sure you’re like me and like the fact that God made us to shout out praise and worship Him always. We can even be silly in His presence. He loves when we enjoy His company. Here’s what the Bible says about praising God.

Sing out your hallelujahs and lift up your gorgeous voices to God on high! Always remember to add some silliness in, too!

Here’s a messy, silly idea for some fun:

If you have Silly String you’re in luck – you’ll need it and at least one other friend to make a team of two. If you don’t already know it, learn the song. Next, whenever someone sings the “Hallelujah” part, the other team sprays silly string at them. When you sing the “Praise ye the Lord” section, the other team sprays you. See who is in the biggest, silliest mess of Silly String at the end. They’re the winner! Send pictures of your Silly String messes.

Have a great day.
