Thirsty?

Miss Joyce
We are so close to the start of summer! I can’t believe it! I hope you’re ready for hot days. What’s your favorite thing to do on a hot day? Do you enjoy taking a dip in a cool pool of water? Drinking a large glass of ice water? Both? When I’m super hot, nothing feels better than drinking a cold glass of water. No other drinks seem to quench my thirst. Lemonade? Soda? Iced tea? Nope, not one of those! In fact, sometimes they make me thirstier. It’s just plain water for me!
That’s funny, because that’s exactly what Jesus said to the woman he met at the well. She came for a drink, and Jesus already knew everything about her. At the time, she hadn’t been living a very godly life and Jesus let her know that He was aware of that. She was surprised, I am positive of that! A stranger who knew everything about her?! That would make me feel funny for sure. Jesus spoke to the woman again, saying, “You came for a drink from this well, but if you would only ask me, I can give you water that will never leave you thirsty.”

Bible Gateway passage: John 4:10 – International Children’s Bible
Jesus said, “You don’t know what God gives. And you don’t know who asked you for a drink. If you knew, you would have asked me, and I would have given you living water.” |
Jesus offered the woman living water. We all have the chance to drink from the well that Jesus offers. He wants to nurture us and help us to grow into His true disciples and followers. All you have to do is ask Him to fill you with his water, and then lead your life according to His word. Don’t pass up the opportunity to walk on the path that Jesus has laid out for you! Whenever you need a drink, take the opportunity to drink from His well of living water!
