Victoriously Living

It’s Easter Monday! I hope that you are feeling the same excitement and joy that you felt yesterday during the celebration of Christ’s resurrection! He Is ALIVE! This means that we have eternal life, and that our salvation has been purchased for us by our Savior, Jesus Christ! Keep celebrating and living in that JOY!

When I was little, I was really into the song “Low In The Grave He Lay”. In fact, I would ask my mom to sing it with me at bedtime after prayers. I especially loved the chorus:

Up from the grave he arose;
With a mighty triumph o’er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

If you love this song as much as I do, I am sure that you sang this in your head with the loudest, most booming voice you could muster up! In my opinion, that’s the only way to sing it. As a kiddo who was afraid of the dark, I would sing that part as loud as I could, too. It  gave me comfort, and made me less scared to be alone at night.

As an adult who is still afraid of the unknowns of this world, that song still gives me peace. Christ defeated death and his foes, which are our foes as well, and he overcame the dark domain in order to give us life!

A Moment To Praise 4.5.21 in Scripture

I take comfort in these words from the Bible which form the chorus of the song.

Romans 6:9 – New International Version

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,(A) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.(B)

We need to grasp onto this and not let it go! We need to understand how awesome our God is, and take into consideration that He shares this same resurrection power with us. The resurrection power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead is given to those who believe in Him.

This means that we have the strength, power, and the promise of eternal life to get us through any and all things that happen in our lives. Please remember your strength through Christ, and keep celebrating God and His amazing love for you today. While you’re at it, try to adopt that celebratory feeling in Christ for the rest of your life!
