A Moment To Praise 3.22.21

Praising God

A beautiful thing just happened in the church office this week! It was a reminder of the sanctity of the church building.

A member came in to the building to bring her Easter Egg candy donation and also to just “see the church” because she hadn’t been in the church since COVID began. She really missed being here! She walked in, looked around, and turned toward me with tears in her eyes. The joy she felt just to enter into His sanctuary was simply beautiful. Her face was completely transformed in that brief minute of joy!

It got me to thinking that we should all feel that sense of awe and praise when we enter into His holy place. I think that scripture says it best.

How often do we actually give thanks and praise the Lord for allowing us to be in His presence? With the weight of the world on our shoulders, we often run around this earth scattered, overwhelmed, confused, forgetful and complaining! I call that the total opposite of what God really wants for us in our lives. God wants us to be praising Him, not “unpraising” Him – and yes, that’s a new word I just made up!

When we can actually focus ourselves on the ‘praising God’ aspect of life, we will find that our day-to-day grind is not so much of a grind. We become less focused on ourselves and more focused on others, we become passionate about the ways of God and are less concerned about the ways of man, and we become closer to God through the whole process – which is the best part! That’s truly living in Christ!

Always try to find yourself in God’s presence. God will never leave you, nor will He ever forsake you. He is always with you, and that’s an everlasting promise from Him.
