Uniforms

Are you ready for some football?! Are you excited for the Super Bowl this weekend? I know people like the game for so many different reasons. The commercials, the parties (probably just with your family this year), watching your favorite team play, or just enjoying the color of the uniforms and the excitement!  Either way, it’s fun to have something to look forward to.

I am much more of a fan of the uniforms myself and cheer for a team based on their colors and style. When I was a kid, I loved the uniforms of the Minnesota Vikings (purple, duh!), the Miami Dolphins (just because) and the Steelers because I grew up in Pittsburgh and the black and gold colors were everywhere! So, from time to time, I tend to look at the uniforms of the teams who are playing in the big game! Maybe you do, too!

A Moment To Praise For Kids 2.2.21 in Scripture

No matter who you are rooting for, did you know that as a Christian who believes in God’s power and might, you also can put on a uniform every day?! Read Ephesians 6:10-18. It describes everything that we need to fight off evil and carry God with us wherever we go!

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV – The Armor of God – Finally, be strong – Bible Gateway

The Armor of God – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full …

The Bible tells us if we put on all of our defenses against the bad things of this world, God will protect us. How do we get this uniform? The Bible tells us that we can have the armor of God through prayer, reading our Bibles and having a friendship with God. We can be sure that when we leave the house, we are fully dressed with all of these things and that God will go with us everywhere we go.

The next time you are feeling nervous about your day, take a minute and ask God to help you put on your uniform against worry and nervousness. Ask God to help you feel His presence around you so you can be confident in the tasks that lie ahead of you for that day. The best part is that you can use this skill to carry God with you for the rest of your life!

Take a moment to watch this music video about the Armor of God and then give a try at making your own helmet with the craft attached. Color it any way you want, and make sure that you place a symbol of God on it as well as your favorite team and colors. Have fun taking God with you no matter where you go!
