Do you know Psalm 23? If you don’t know it or can’t remember it right now, here it is.

Psalm 23 NIV – A psalm of David. The LORD is my – Bible Gateway

A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. This Psalm was written by King David. He was a king, but he also was a very normal person who sinned a lot. He did, however, rely on God to help him through his difficulties.

As you can read in this Bible verse, it’s obvious that David did not put his hope and trust in people, but in God instead. Even though he was a king with an army to protect him and servants to care for him, he chose to follow God instead. He says that God is in charge of his wellbeing and that he doesn’t need anything because God provides all the time. God calms him and guides him on the right paths. David also knows that there is no need to fear anything or anyone because God will protect. Last but not least, David is aware that God will always be there to give him a hug and comfort him no matter what happens.

The reason that this writing of David’s is in the Bible is because God wants you to know that He provides the same love and comfort for you all the time as well. Don’t ever be rattled or shaken by the things of this world; from school to friend issues. These problems don’t matter in the light of the One who protects and guards your life. Trust in God. Don’t be shaken! Enjoy this song that says just that – don’t be shaken.
