A Moment To Praise 1.25.21

Say “Ahh”

I love this time of year (insert sarcasm here) when I have to go to the doctor for my yearly physical. At my appointment, I get weighed, where I get to see what that holiday and Covid munching did to my bottom line. Then, I get to have my height measured, to see that I lost another inch in the past year. Finally, I give my blood for lab work, which is my least favorite thing to do. These things make up the trifecta of fun times! Doing all of this is not a treat, but it is a necessity for staying well and being aware of my own health.

I do believe that God wants us to be responsible in all of these things! We are taking care of the body which He gave to us. We are showing that we appreciate the opportunity to live on this earth and to do work for His kingdom!

A Moment To Praise 1.25.21 in Scripture

It brings to mind that God had do to a lot of not-so-fun stuff for us in order to give us our salvation.  Most notedly, He sacrificed, completely gave up, His Son. Jesus in turn gave His blood to eliminate our sins.

I’m sure that we will never understand what this sacrifice felt like to God or to Christ. We can never comprehend the pain and the anguish that Jesus went through on the cross. Furthermore, I know that none of us would ever want to sacrifice our lives the way that Jesus did. Remember – I don’t even like to give my blood, so I know that I would definitely not want to die a painful death on a cross!

Even so, Jesus did all of this for us! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful Savior who loved us so much that His death and blood gave us redemption and grace. Praise and thanks to the Almighty!

As we begin to move through 2021 and begin to approach Lent, which starts on February 17 with Ash Wednesday, let us not forget that Jesus paid a huge price for our salvation. We owe it to Him and to ourselves to take care of our own physical and spiritual lives. This is imperative so that we can continue to live in worship and praise of Him. We do all of this with the hopes that others will see Christ in our very being and in the way we live our lives!

Have a great week everyone, and take good loving care of yourself. Focus on caring for yourself physically, and with equal or more importance, spiritually. Listen to this absolutely beautiful song about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ!
