Weariness

I’m tired. Really, if I’m being truthful, I’m exhausted! And I am trying to pinpoint why. But I think I know! It’s this season of life we are in. I know that this period of time is wearing everyone down. And for most of us we want normal again.

How often do you feel like this too? I think if we are all honest, we would say we’re all at this point right now!

One thing I do know is that God completely knows how we feel. He may feel the same at times too! Just imagine for a minute how He feels about us when we stray and sin against him. I think it must feel like we feel now…”can we please be done with this?” is what comes to mind. I feel like He says this exact thing to me all the time. And I deserve it!

But in his Word, He tells me this:

Matthew 11:28 NIV – “Come to me, all you who are weary – Bible Gateway

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

It’s about time I listen to this scripture don’t you think? How about you? Do you need to hear this and listen as well?

In my life there have been times when I’ve been able to follow this spiritual advice. When I was able to give over my worries and fears and rest in His arms. Ah! It’s so refreshing and rejuvenating. But there have also been times, too many to count,  when I become totally consumed with fear and anxious feelings. It’s in those times that I completely forget to even call on his presence to give me rest.  I become so disappointed in myself. But that is human nature. thank goodness he has enough love for me to cover those human reactions ad emotions.

My prayer as we continue to navigate this year would be one in which I remember His past mercies to me and I call on Him to give me the much-needed rest I seek. That peace that we all want to have so badly.

I will pray the same for you my friends. Take your weary self to the only place that will give you rest. God! And then take a good long nap knowing that He’s got you!

This song is such a great reminder for all of us who are tired, hurting, and feeling like the dawn will never come.  It reminds us that we are safe in his arms, that He is faithful and He will bring the dawn! Have a great week. ❤️
