Joyful

Miss Joyce
Hi kids!
Hope you’re having a great day! I was just looking over songs and I remember the kids choir loving to sing joy to the world at the Christmas program every year. Â So sad we won’t be able to do that this year! But we can still be joyful!
I was thinking about that song and then thinking about the shepherds seeing an angel come out of the sky and talk to them! I would have been super scared if I saw anything like that! How about you?
I often like to look up to the sky, day or night, and try to see shapes in clouds, or planes flying by, beautiful sunrises or sunsets…but I can tell you for sure if I looked up to the sky and saw anything like an angel coming toward me, I might just freak out! I’m guessing you might too!

But the Bible tells us that when Jesus was born that is exactly what happened. It also says that the shepherds whom the angel spoke to were very afraid. Â So, we aren’t alone in our feelings of fear! Here’s what the angel said to the shepherds
Luke 2:10-11 GNT – but the angel said to them, – Bible Gateway
Luke 2:10-11 Good News Translation (GNT). 10 but the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people. 11 This very day in David’s town your Savior was born—Christ the Lord! |
The angel was giving the good news that Jesus was born! That He was the Savior that they had long been waiting for!
I’d like to think that if I was a shepherd, and after being afraid, I would be a part of the group that went immediately to find Jesus, the Messiah! I would like to think I wouldn’t have been too afraid of that!
Think about how you might have felt and what you might have done! See what you come up with! And remember, Jesus came to this world to save it and us! He is truly the best Good News around!
