Thankful Thursday 10-22-2020

Thankful Thursday focuses on support and grace. First, I am so grateful to dive into God’s Word each morning to solidify my thoughts, energy, and focus for the day. The grounding peace of spending time with God is a gift for which I am ever thankful.

This foundation for my day firms up my ability to deal with the challenges, struggles, and frustrations (both my own and with those of the people around me.) I know that God not only shores me up to interact well and support to the people around me, but also He blessedly shores up the people coming into contact with me to interact well and support me through grace and mercy. We all have those days that do not go the way we hoped, but if we look for it, we will find a gift of good in the day (which may very well be closing our eyes on the day that was and entering into sleep!)

Grace and support show up in actions as simple as a smile as you catch the eye of another. Or it may look like a deep breath, head nod, and a thumbs up. Or it may arrive through uplifting words as shared in scripture: A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! (Proverbs 15:23)

Your challenge this week is two fold: FIND grace and support in each of your days and BE grace-filled and supportive in each of your days towards those around you. For encouragement, listen in to this week’s read-along story from Pastor Dan tomorrow on Gravel Hill’s YouTube channel. You’ve got this! I’m cheering you on to embrace and share this week’s challenge.

Blessings!
