The Golden Rule

Hi Kids and Parents!

A Moment To Praise For Kids 8.11.20 in Scripture

I hope you’re having a good day! I want to share with you a Bible verse that is probably one of the first ones we learn when we go to Sunday school. It is the scripture where you can find the Golden Rule.

I think that its meaning and practice has been lost in our world lately, so I think it’s a good reminder. God expects us to put others’ feelings first over our own. He wants us to treat other people the way we would like to be treated.

For example, if you would like to be included in a game at recess, make sure that you are someone who is inclusive to others in the cafeteria. If you want someone to talk nicely to you and to not be mean, then you should be the kind of person that everyone knows will be nice to them no matter what. If you want to have a friend who will be there when you have a problem, then make sure you are the person who freely cares for other people’s feelings and is helpful. I think you understand my point!

The Golden Rule is inviting you to behave in the same way in which Jesus behaved towards others. He was not harsh or bossy.  He did not make fun of anyone nor did he exclude people. In fact, He made sure that all people could hear Him, see Him, and have an opportunity to be saved through Him.

So, I think that if it’s an idea that’s good enough for Jesus, we ought to try it ourselves. Maybe we will see a change in our little part of the world! This song sums up the Golden Rule for us. Have a listen!
