Thankful Thursday 3-12-2020
Thankful Thursday evolves rapidly today with each passing hour. Efforts of unprecedented proactive actions are occurring to protect each other. These steps are truly putting others with weaker or compromised immune systems in our society at the forefront.
While watching the ever changing responses to all that is happening, I sense the panic of unknown beginning to creep in. Before allowing that panic to overtake my peace, I pause to remember: God is always here. He has been before we even were. Is now here. And awaits us in the future.
He calls to us in Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Turning to Him, we find our center, our peace-that-passes-understanding. Collectively pushing a major pause button, we actively choose better for others and ourselves.
In this time of pause and of Lent, I encourage you (along with myself) to look for God in your day. Choose to spend some time in the Word. Hear the message He has just for you. First and foremost He is saying: I love you!
His love waits for you to receive it. No matter what is happening around, in, or through us, He is always there. I give thanks for God, the one unchanging force in life. The One who loves and cares for each of us deeply.
Blessings to you!
